Will the boots be going into production? I could do with a pair of those in case I ever get to do show rigging work again.

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
― Jacques Bergier, quoting Fulcanelli

They do look cozy, no?

No current plans for production, but I could probably whip up a set of these, for that special four legged lady in your life.

*Little spoiler alert from headquarters. There's Four legged action on its way.

Some odds and ends:

The first pic here is of the initial concept I had. I've been calling the boy Little Batman, and I posed him to mirror Fearless Girl by Kristen Visbal, who stands vigil at the NY Stock Exchange. Fearless Girl spends her days taking on the forces of late stage capitalism, while her friend here battles state appointed guardians of white supremacy across town.

I decided after much back and forth to give him a piece of his own, along with another character I'd originally planned to have join them here.

The badge reads (in English) "Exterminate All the Brutes (and protect the ruling class)".

Finally, I've included a few process shots to show how I get from Point A to Point B.

That concludes our Officer Friendly bizness. I think we can move on to other stuff now.

Being mixed raced and primarily African-American, that batman one is intense and speaks volumes.

The intensity and vision of your mind is heavy, but so beautiful.

Okay. Here's an oldie that's become brand new again.

So, this next one started as an homage to a 13 year old Myrtle Corbin (1868 - 1928 ), shown here in this actual photograph from 1881. It then quickly morphed into something other (as they often tend to do).

I sculpted her in 2013 - the first of many characters that I've since posed and stuck on a base in a similar fashion. Recently I spent a bit more time on her and put together a little cinematic doodad in her honor.

Not for nothin', but her story is an awfully interesting one. She's definitely worth a Google.

Many process shots to come over the next few days, and then it's movie time.

And so we begin:

Myrtle here began life as a single sphere, from which I grew this Zsphere rig in a neutral pose and then converted into sculptable geometry. Next came a rough bust which evolved over the following weeks, along with the rest of her.

Next came boots n' socks n' socks n' boots, then blocking in her clothing piece by piece.

More process shots to come within the next few days. Will be dropping the final project on ya sometime next week, and if it ain't the most DMT thing you've ever seen, I will officially eat my shoe (though it certainly won't be this fancy).

Of course every queen needs a throne, so I made her this one.

And for those paying attention, that would be my screaming babyman engraved into the headrest.

This alas poor Yorick looking mofo is about to join the party, with an authentic antique Martian lantern illuminating the horror ahead.

If you haven't already, I must implore you to give her a Google toute suite! The story of Myrtle Corbin is a super fascinating one.

I've tried to do her justice. I think I made her beautiful, but you can decide for yourselves soon enough.

Right? She had seven kids! And two vaginas!!

Anyway, I thank you much. Appreciate all the kinds words.

I'm not sure why I turned her into a psychedelic virtual Hamlet, other than that's where my fascination generally lies: mortality grokked through the lens of psychedelics. I'd like to hope that people will see it as what I intended: a loving tribute to a life well lived by a unique and fashion forward individual.

Grab your popcorn (or GVG) and crawl under your comfiest blankey. Make sure to turn on the audio (of course), blow that ish up to full screen (of course) and watch on a loop until your brain dribbles copiously out of your nostrils.

I don't know if anyone here is on Clubhouse, but I'm going to be interviewed, along with a handful of other very cool artists, in just about 10 minutes, from 11-1 PST.

If you are, come on by!

So, as I mentioned earlier was my plan going forward, I've just now started selling multiple edition NFTs at a much lower price point on the Tezos block chain, in order to give people who might want to get into the game and are otherwise locked out a chance to play as well.

https://kalamint.io/user/artvandlay5000

I'm starting with the ancestral Van D'lay Family Crest, which I posted here earlier. It's fancy, it's schmancy, and it's supa cheap. I'll be putting up lots of 3/3 and 5/5 editions on Kalamint, and probably larger editions (like 25/25 and 100/100) on Hic et Nunc for supa dupa cheap.

And of course I'll be continuing to cater to the NFT jet set with 1/1's on Known Origin and Foundation, dropping once or twice each month.

This was a one off I made for a friend whilst in the thick of a very long project. I needed a break and this filthy beast was just what the doctor ordered.

Little bonus: In the background you'll find the coded recipe to Grandma Van D'lay's oatmeal cookies; Cookies so motherfucking delicious one will eat them until their stomach ruptures.
