Ok , so I just want to get some opinions regarding a spesific spice extraction method.

So this girl I know does the following :

1. 100g MHRB + 120g Salt + 900ml Water + 60g NAOH left for a day in a bottle , shaken every few hours.

2. Then adds +- 200ml Naptha , leaves glass bottle in the sun outside so it can get nice and warm , shakes it every few hours.

3. Seperate the naptha with speratory funnel , puts the naptha in small bottle and puts it in the freezer , leave for 24 hours. Crystals form against the sides of the bottle.

4. Pour off most of the naptha back into the MHRB mixture.

5. Heat the small bottle with the naptha in a water bath so the crystals can redissolve into a smaller amount of solvent.

6. Transfer this solvent to 2ml centrifugal tubes , and let these sit in the water bath (the tubes have to be warm , otherwise the alkaloids will fall out of solution to soon.

7. Spin solution in centrifuge for 1-2mins at max RPM (small 2ml tube centrifuge)

8. Suck up top layer of solvent from centrifuge tubes with pipette , place this layer in another centrifuge tube , be sure to avoid sucking up the oils at bottom.

9. Suck up the oils/naptha left in the bottom of the tubes , and put them back in the MHRB mixture , use some hot Solvent to wash out oily bits that stick to the tubes.

10. Place the tubes from step 8 in the freezer for 24 hours.

11. Place these tubes in the centrifuge at max RPM for 1min.

12. Pull off the top layers with a pipette and place them back into the MHRB mixtute.

13. Leave the tubes out so the naptha can evaporate. And collect powder left in bottom of the tubes.

14. Repeat steps 2 to 13 a few times , she prefers 5-6 times.

Just a few other things :

She recycles the same solvent over and over again , so that nothing is lost.

This process yields white powder for the fist two pulls , and then light brown powder for the rest.

So any thoughts on this ?
