SWIM got some Pedro powder a while ago. He tried 40 g of the powder in capsules and was quite pleased with the results.

He went ahead and did ron's d-limonene & vinegar extraction on about 170 g of powder, and obtained about 1 g of sticky amber resin. The amber resin from the first pulls was considerably darker than the resin obtained from the later pulls, which was light tan.

Anyways, he first tried about 90 mg of some resin that was midway between the darkest stuff from his first pull and the lighter stuff from his last pulls. It had no notable effects.

He then tried about 270 mg of that same resin with 3 datura seeds on top, and had some minor effects. He's not sure which were due to the datura and which were due to the extract. In either case, the effects were not nearly as strong as those experienced from the 40 g of cactus powder.

What should he do now? Should he just take the remaining 600-700 mg all in one go? He doesn't think it can be very potent, but then is worried that if he is wrong, he could wind up taking too much. Does anyone think this is a major concern, or have experiences with taking too much mescaline?

SWIM also is certain there must be more alkaloids trapped in the cactus - the 170 g of powder he used must have at least 4 good doses worth, since 40 g of powder was enough for a moderately strong experience. Does anyone think an acid cook would be a good idea for liberating more alkaloids? Or is there something else he should try?
