STS is a community for people interested in growing, preserving and researching botanical species, particularly those with remarkable therapeutic and/or psychoactive properties.

Totally immense pieces of art. The mind boggles that this guy would be having these types of thoughts on a day to day basis.

I wonder if he continued to paint in the same frenetic manner after he had had the tumor removed.

Wow! Can't even imagine his situation. Some of his art is like crazy maps of other realms. HIs images on flickr are INSANE! Thanks for sharing.

Let us declare nature to be legitimate. All plants should be declared legal, and all animals for that matter. The notion of illegal plants and animals is obnoxious and ridiculous.

I worked with this guy! As far as I know, he's still painting things like this.

Friendly, mellow, occasionally whips out a killer sense of humor. Very individualistic (some might say eccentric but I hate using that word). Has a spiritual side for sure but it seems to be divorced from any religiosity (so, he's not a big fan of the pseudo-cult of Alex Grey).

Makes a mean cupcake.

Also makes very interesting music on instruments he's made/altered (think trancey atonal electric roars and screams from hell).
