My mate found one yesterday Rolling eyes

All the usual haunts round Glasgow are kinda dead, was similiar last year, swim and his friends were lucky to find one decent patch last year but they had to get in a car and search for a whole day. There was a guy on the shroomery who had a few thousand a month ago, so theyve been out for a while in some places. Swims friend found a load of fly agaric so we have plenty of them, just have to get some libs.

Yup. It seems that the mushroom season started early this year. SWIM's friend was finding them by the hundreds from mid August to end of September. But his last expedition the past weekend yielded only 40.

Searching for a day is nothing. I've had to search for a week maybe but I always end up finding fields with thousands. Well I never count but estimate around 25 in a gram.
I went picking 2 weeks ago with my nephew and we got 120gr. in exactly an hour. that's 120x25=3000!

This season I picked 85gr. My biggest season some years ago was over 350gr. dry.

p.s. I'm not in the UK.

You're too late IMHO. Its frosty in Edinburgh.
SWIM was picking with some friends from the
10th of september, got plenty in horse feilds.

Then on the 29th we took 'em up north to a
certain free festival which shall not be named,
near fort william. and EATED THEMS!

But seriously, bad luck. Be earlier next year!

Put it this way, if you go out early in september and
you don't find any, too bad - atleast you've not missed them yet!
why wait for halfway through october when its starting to get frosty
and then cry about not having any libbies?

On the plus side, I've heard roumers that they persist long
into the frost in some places. Horse and cow pastures are your
best bet! Also remember you need to train your eyes up too Smile

I'm going to keep looking, although there's not many good spots here. Crop fields for miles! Fucking industrial country sides... I'm going to take a little time here and there to find possible good spots for future reference though. I just changed my location and I'm clueless.

I live in leeds and know where to get them. Picked them only once though. I only ate enough to get a bit spaced out, I was a bit weary about eating more. What are they like when eating enough?
I'm tempted to go out for some, because I can't get mushroom anymore which is a real shame..

They are brilliant man.
The first time i went pickin, i was out all morning, came back and munched the lot.
Not sure how many or what weight, but defo over 50 shrooms.
It was lovley. Much hilarity and an overwhelming feeling of oneness and connectedness to everything.

Its hard to beat a good dose of libs...particularly fresh...at high doses they are VERY powerful visionary mushrooms (more like Hawaiian Copelandia cyanescens mushrooms than cubensis in character I think). You can't really get better than going out and hand picking your own, indigenous psychedelic fungus...very earthy.

I'm no expert on finding Liberty Caps, but I would say that due to our Indian summer the ground is way too dry at present (at least in the South where I'm situated). There has a fair amount of rain in the last 3 days so I would say give it a further 10-14 days and they should be starting to come up.

Unfortunately around my way I haven't found any sizable quantities for some years, maybe this year will be different.

Remember, the first flush of the season is always the most powerful.
