Good thing there are new development in sublingual / buccal salvia administration.
Makes me wonder what kind of extraction and preparation is it.

"Our Buccal Salvia Powder blend uses a full spectrum extraction of Salvia Divinorum combined with other compounds and essential oils so that high levels of Salvia will easily and effectively pass through the membranes in the mouth."

If the extraction is somewhat the known ones which the dried extract is then mix with E.O and other "compounds" (mint is supposed to help absorbtion through microcapillarity F.E.), or a completely different extraction tek, apparatus and solvent and formulation.

Thanks for sharing.

I wasn't at Psymposium. That's cool he was sharing there. Were people taking the powder at higher doses there?

I am definitely curious myself how this method is done as I much prefer taking Salvia orally and have over 700g of dried leaf.

I think it's really cool he figured out a way to improve buccal absorption of salvia. I also have heard really good things about him and that he is a good person with good intentions. However, I'm a bit miffed that upon discovering a novel and effective route to utilize this medicine, he has chosen to keep the recipe a proprietary secret and market the product rather than release the recipe to the community and allow it's further development in an open source manner. I can't really hate on the guy for trying to get his, but it seems a little antithetical to the spirit of entheogenic exploration and healing. Just my personal feels on the matter.

I dunno, making the tea and letting it linger in my mouth a few minutes before swallowing has been sufficiently effective for me. Nice, earthy taste.

Yeah I think it's easy to guess some ways to go about it. Full spectrum extract can be as simple as cold acetone pulls, evaporated. Then lies the secret admixture he used, maybe facilitating buccal absorption like menthol or mint E.O, stevia / and a couple of other agents ?
Lets brainstorm about that. I haven't got any salvia leaves to play with right now but will seek theoretically.

Pardon me for asking a potentially rude question, but what's the point of doing extractions and all this fancy stuff with Salvia?

What's wrong with the quidding method? It can be quite effective. Even more effective is simmering a strong Salvia tea and letting the liquid linger in your mouth/back of your throat.

It just seems unnecessary--messing with something already quite streamlined and effective. More effort to get further away from a wholesome experience with plant consciousness.

PS- I've brewed Salvia with peppermint, and it's really superb (possibly synergistic) combination. If yer talking about increased absorption and improved taste.

PPS- I've written a "tek" for this, if people want to see it.

tea has nothing on quidding IME...salvinorin is hardly water soluble. I have experimented with salvia teas many times.

I would have to agree about brewing tea from Salvia. The best experience I've had with Salvia (orally) is with the juice squeezed from the fresh leaves. Tinctures and quidding have been hit and miss over the years. But that fresh juice is unbelievable.

Yeah I hear we can simply extract the juice from fresh leaves, and use this. It does sounds a very good salvia product. Maybe with mint and stevia to make it more palatable and absorbable.

Thank you, very helpful! Perhaps we can reinvent this recipe for those of us who grow our own plants and aren't particularaly inclined to purchase blends of unknown materials.

RythmSpring, please share, we want to Expand our salvinorin skills !!
Werd, thank you, I found yesterday they added capsaicin in this new product ( it has been said it burns a bit the mouth for this reason too !! ), I feel myrrh and salvia d. terpenes would go very well together .. Like hand in hand .. Got to dig that out, I have a new salvia cutting I start growing.
Let's experiment on this noble dissociative !

Nice. So this is linked with his used of capsaïsin as a synergistic agent. The reason being it for it's action on mucous membrane locally.

Very interesting!

I've only had one experience with buccal administration (home made tincture) and it was pretty effective for me at a small dose, I didn't even really get the mouth burn from the ethanol because I diluted it with a small amount of hot water and honey. I will have to try some capsaicin next time I venture (I have slowly been feeling a pull back to her lately) to see if it helps with absorption.

I would love to try this new form of buccal salvia but I checked the order page at their website and they don't ship outside the US. Hopefully someone reverse engineers it and figures out the secret recipe.

I brought this up on another thread no response yet but.....

I wonder if the buccal absorbtion secret in his discovery with salvia.. could work with oral dmt alowing quick absorbtion of dmt into blood stream totaly bypassing the gut that would destroy the spice?

Or is this idea even posible?
