Just thought it would be cool to see some pictures of everybody's final results. Please post which salt it is, e.g, sulfate, hydrochloride, acetate, etc. and tell us your purification method.

I'll start. Mescaline sulfate by A/B extraction with water/acetone dual solvent recrystallization.

Here's some of the raw product after titration with dilute sulfuric acid.

This is after recrystallization with water and acetone left in freezer overnight.

I'm waiting for my Thiele tube and thermometer to get here so I can test the melting point. And of course, a bioassayBig grin

m. sulfate.

I won't go into how I cleaned it, but it involved sonocrystallization.
m.p. range was tested on a Thomas Hoover Unimelt (uncorrected), 184-187 C.

Great pictures. Mescaline is so beautiful.

One more:

Filter cake on glass. Looks like I spilled it on the blue cloth, but don't worry.

How to make this info even more useful would be to state the amount of plant material used and what strain/cultivar it was.

For example i acheived a yield of .2 using a pc panchanoi from ___

that way we could know which cacti are the most deisirable!

I know it's not the nicest mesc on this thread, but I'm still pretty happy with my result, this was my first attempt Smile. Did 69ron's tek on 50g of powdered San Pedro. Yield: about 400mg after 2 acetone washes and 1 ipa wash (this picture might've been taken before the IPA wash, I don't remember). I can't wait to try it out!

Nice!! What was your purification/recrystallization technique?

crystals from acetone/water method i'm sure...

recently ran 30' of mostly bridge/hybrid tip cuttings that have been sitting since last spring.

took partially dried out cacti
blended w/minimal water
boiled until it stopped foaming- it was about 4gal of material
added to 5gal bucket w/2 lbs lye added slowly while rapidly blending w/paint mixer
material became watery in 1hr
added xylene toluene mix- blended again
separated quickly and did 4 pulls in 4hrs
salted w ph down used very hot water bath and funnel/cotton ball to separate and filter all the saltings
reduced volume on gas range set to high
added acetone
yield 10+ grams

yeah- no problem
would have been less than 1kg of dried material
(which is easily run in a 5gal)

That extraction was done on only outer tissue dry powder and a mol:mol ratio of h2so4 was calculated out based on a 2% estimated yeild. After evap, the mesc goo was washed in cold anhydrous MEK, forming brown xtals, and allowed to dry. Then it was dissolved in 75% acetone, 25% h2o with heat and cooled roughly for 2 hrs and filtered those out.

LOL @ dg, 10g nice Razz

heres my first attempt at a STB with xylene. dual solvent recrystallized in acetone
extracted from 100g of P.torch - yield 1 gram if you include the brown stuff!

Thought I would share.. Some m. sulfate from recent extraction of bridgesii using the house's resin chunk method and then standard base/acid/re-x.Smile
