So I had to share with someone who appreciates. I got up this morning to mist and fan my first tub of cakes ever, only to find pins forming! My fun-guys are being born! Thanks for humoring me... proud papa pictures later.

Alright, this being my first mushroom grow ever, I'm just darned glad to have ANY mushrooms growing... that being said, I've realized and learned alot just while these guys have been fruiting. I know whatever I did it lead to wasted cake energy colonizing the verm roll and a number of other things but...

HELL MAN! IT WORKED!

So with that... a little low-class first grow - shroom porn... day 9 of fruiting btw...

First flush is only going to be 4 or 5 grams dry, but I learned a silly-big amount in that process. This pic shows about 2/3 of the fruits that were/are to be picked, a few needed until tomorrow, but the cakes are so dry that I'll just pick what's there and dunk again, hoping what I learned on the first flush...

MIST FAN MIST FAN MIST FAN MIST FAN MIST FAN MIST FAN MIST FAN MIST FAN MIST FAN MIST FAN MIST FAN MIST FAN

... pays off a little more on the second flush. Still just one big happy camper! I can't believe I never gave this a shot in college!

HOLY CRAP I GREW MUSHROOMS! (Sorry there's still an amazed teenager in this 43 yo cage, lol)

2nd flush starting. I had pins the day after taking them out of the dunk... pretty cool. Also, it looks like 2 will be better now that I learned a few more nooby things. Pics of my babies.

There's a VERY wonderful symbiosis I feel with them. A very deep 2-way appreciation is the feeling I get.

UPDATE

Second flush done, dunking for third flush. Not huge mushies or tons of them, but plenty for my immediate needs and their potency seems to exceed that of fungus obtain through other channels (at least the channels I was watching). Some of these will be gettin'in mah belly today.

Thanks. Smile The very cool thing is, I've found a new hobby. I'm planning on growing all kinds of mushrooms to eat, for medicine, etc. I'm finding the world of fungus absolutely fascinating.

What is the white stuff in your fruiting chamber? Did you use perlite?
We are surprisingly similar.
