Astro84 that is obtusi , it's distinguished from longi by its uneven resinous margins and it's more pronounced veins.

i'm not so sure I agree that astro's tree is obtuse.. looks more like a form of longifolia that may share genetic traits with obtuse (or maybe the blunt phyllodes were just occasional on the specimen?)... the nerve anastomy doesn't quite look like that of obtuse whilst the flowers seem too deep of a yellow. obtuse won't be in flower till the summer either so if the pic is recent then its longifolia

looks very similar... what is the texture of the phyllodes? can be easily confused with mucronata.

Thanks for clearing that up, yes, photos were taken only a couple of weeks ago (mid winter) I dont know why I thought that Obtusifolia flowered in winter, perhaps I got confused with other varieties. oh well!

[/quote] The are furry, little greyish hairs on them which I believe is a trait of floribunda? Please correct me if I am wrong, thankyou all for the wonderful help so far! Thank you DreaMTripper and acacian! You both are a wealth of knowledge. Found an abundance of these in a plantation that's due to be cut down soon, the ones that have seeded on the roads will most likely be destroyed/cut down so i think ill try my hand at transplanting these. Good Evening everyone! This is a long shot, but can anyone help ID this? This was taken in a quite area in Brisbane QLD. I know its an acacia but the closest I found to it in terms of phyllode look alike was an acacia complanata. It didn't have any flowers on it, so I know this will be difficult, all help is greatly appreciated!
