After quite a few Caapi only journeys I finally decided to add a bit of light to my experience. The light I added was in Tincture form. I had soaked 10 grams of Chaliponga leaves in 50% white rum. This had been soaking for a good 8 months, stored in a sealed glass jar in a dark drawer (the powdered leaves were still in the alcohol).

I drank 50 grams of Cielo Caapi (from Maya) waited until I could feel it and then drank what should have amounted to about 2 grams of chaliponga...nothng further happened...

After about an hour I drank another 20 grams of caapi and drank 1 gram of mimosa in a tincture that had been prepared the same way as the chaliponga, except that I had filtered the mimosa out...again, nothing...

I had a great and restful sleep and woke full of the joys of spring, but am perplexed as to why there were no fireworks?

Was the alcohol content too weak to extract the dmt? Both the Chaliponga and Mimosa were from Maya and came with a warning about the strength and advising caution...

This was also my first experience with Cielo caapi, all my previous experiences were with white and the Cielo is definately not as strong gram for gram, but I was feeling the effects, especially once I'd taken 70 grams, so I was expecting pretty much full mao inhibition...

Can anyone throw any light on why nothing happened...Thanks

I'm just not so sure that tincture would be that effective. DMT is absorbed better orally than sublingually in my experience, at least when I use pure DMT anyway and I know exactly how much DMT is present. It does sound like you drank more than enough caapi for MAO inhibition. Chaliponga may be "strong", but in my personal experience with it, when I drank 10g, it was a lighter experience than 5g mimosa. I simply would have taken more admixture, but as I said, I don't know how effective that tincture is anyway. Do you have any DMT freebase? If so, the next time you have an ayahuasca failure, if you smoke some DMT, assuming you do have the proper MAO inhibition, it should knock things up several octaves for an hour or so. When you come back down, if you've had enough, you can just stay away from the pipe, and if you could use some more, another hit or two, and you'll be back on the other side of the universe for another hour. This also has a good chance of kick starting and synergizing with the mimosa and/or chaliponga already in your system.

Thanks for the reply Global. Sorry if I wasn't clear with my labeling, I called it a tincture but maybe I should have said something like, "steeped in alcohol" I drank it, I didn't take it sublingually...

I did up the admixture, by adding the mimosa. The Chaliponga did nothing, but I wasn't sure about dosage. I did remember maya's warning though, not to drink more than 3 grams of the mimosa, especially if you weren't experienced, so I felt sure that a gram of that would have produced some results...but nothing.

last night I cooked 100 grams of chacruna, 3 X 1 hour boils and reduced it down...Now I'm just waiting for the chance (I have a young family so finding the time to journey is a bit difficult) and I'll try again with that...

I don't have any freebase, I'm planning to get a feel through Ayahuasca first
