This morning I took 3 large hits of spice from a bong and laid back in bed. After the initial geometric visions and the electric sensation coursing through my entire body, a rift opened in my vision. It looked like a time in the creation of the universe that was running in super fast forward. I could see galaxies spinning out into space, stars exploding, and had the feeling of true creation. I then started to hyperventilate. I felt I was fighting to breathe and I could see the vague images of the dark room that was in my peripheral vision, so I was confident that I had not transcended my body and was still in my bed. My attention then focused on my exasperated breathing as well as the wonderful visions of the cosmos that was before me. I remember thinking to myself if I was doing this "right" (I know that is a kinda silly way to put it) and am wondering if one can have an OBE while still being somewhat aware of the room and your body?

Blessings,

Wagonwheel

Define Breakthrough
You smoked DMT, whether it was a "breakthrough" or not could hardly matter less. Technically, it is not an OBE if you are still filtering senses from your body, but this cheapens the experience in no way.

"True creation" Smile

sounds like a breakthrough for you.
i feel you answered it yourself :-)

i had a semi OBE experience recently (like being out of phase) but not the vivid visuals you experienced. it was a little breakthrough in my head. but so was my completely clear ego death on my first mushrooms. and then the complete transformation of my visual reality on salvia. or the lost language reference, when my room was just a subway station although i clearly saw my desktop and chair, but couldnt define them as such, just as part of a subways station.

if a "real breakthrough" is the combination of two or more of those things it will probably come and be my "new breakthrough" :-)

Don't worry about little words like that!

Nice way to start a day: witnessing the creation of the universe - like a good strong cup of coffee Pleased

Thank you all for listening. I was aware of myself in bed and was viewing into a vast riff, most definitely a view from above, below. At first I rationalized an ego struggle but soon learned (remembered) that this experience was the only way I could compare time/space with space/time in the same context. At first, I think my jerk knee interpretation of this experience was ego driven and have since realized that that is not it at all. To shed the ego is not to fully live, to properly utilize the ego as simply a concept created as a social tool and not a hindrance is most healthy. Much more work to do. Happy trails.

Extreme respect for all,

Wagonwheel

Sounds like a cool experience!

In general I think about breakthroughs along a pretty wide spectrum. Sometimes my friend is completely somewhere else, sometimes she's still in her body in normal consensus reality but can "see" into other places.

There are things to be learned from both. Smile

My friend & another "sensitive" friend who hadn't smoked DMT were able to discuss shared visions after the first friend smoked, when she could see somewhere else but was still in the same reality with her other friend. This wouldn't have been possible if she were completely gone.
