Hello everyone. I am fairly new to DMT and have only had a handful of journeys so far. I've worked my way up in increments of 5 from 10 to 20 mg's and the highest I've tried is 23 mg. And I guess I should add that I use the herb sandwich method with a bong. This is usually a pretty comfortable trip. Very visual, though I haven't had an actual breakthrough yet. I'm not in any rush to break through. I enjoy the brilliant colors and geometric patterns a lot. And sometimes I see vague objects (people and such) but they are very undefined. I have had a tiny bit of "contact", mostly just feelings that seem like they did not originate from my mind, and definitely felt the presence of higher beings at one point. But this last trip I had a few minutes ago was a little uncomfortable and strange. I did a 23mg dose like normal. But I was on my back porch with a friend this time. Usually I like to stay inside but my wife was watching TV and I didn't want to bother her or have the TV disturb me. I wasn't uncomfortable with the idea of smoking spice outside, as I blasted off while on a good mushroom trip a few days ago with no problems. I was in a pretty positive mindset and tried to clear my head and open myself up as much as possible. So when I hit the bong, closed my eyes, and started to feel the DMT come up, I noticed a slight pressure in my sinuses around my nose that I've never felt before. I also felt a lot heavier. I mean I always feel heavy but this was different. It was rather uncomfortable. I tried to make the best of it and I said a little prayer in my head telling whoever was out there to show me what they want me to see. I then got the usual visuals. They weren't as bright as most of the other trips but I didn't see this as a bad thing. I also got these flashes coming from my peripheral vision. It was almost like something swinging down at me. hard to describe really. After watching all the patterns and colors, I realized there was a shape of something in front of me. I focused on it and it looked like a witch and she had something dangling on the end of a stick in front of me. This didn't really frighten me but it did make me very uncomfortable so I opened my eyes to end it. I'm not really sure what to make of it. when I opened my eyes I could still feel the DMT pretty strong but I felt a little nauseous and very drained. Also, this wasn't the most intense trip I've had. It seemed rather mild compared to some others at similar doses. Thinking back, there are a few things I think may have played a part in the negative parts of this trip. I had just eaten a pretty heavy meal and I'm pretty sure thats where the nausea came in. And the uncomfortable heaviness I felt may have just been the chair I was sitting in because I'm used to sitting way back on my very comfy couch and this time I was sitting more upright. But I can't explain the sinus pressure. And the witch was pretty unsettling. I wish now that I could have found out what was on the end of that stick. It was almost like she was taunting me or mocking me or something. But anyway.. Just thought I would share this little tidbit with you. From now on I will wait a while after a meal and stick to exploring from the comfort of my couch. Anyone care to share their thoughts and insight on this?

The Herb sandwich method, you say. And you've never really broken through? But this current experience mentions contact with an entity--sounds very close to a break through, at least.

I'd suggest the herb sandwich may not be the best method (well, I don't know you and certainly can't say what may or may not suit you best). But you are mixing spice with something else--something which does not potentiate effects. I knew a couple who claimed they loved spice, smoked it all the time. Their method involved rolling a bit of it up in a spliff...I asked them about effects. These nice kids had no idea, they spoke of a mildly psychedelic good time, nothing mind blowing at all.

A small bed of herbs may work better, or even ashes, but the sandwich method just seems like you are burning to much herb with that spice. Only a theory.

Oh and try and use paragraph breaks.

I appreciate your perspective.

@Bedazzle

I use a minimal amount of plant material. Just enough on the bottom to keep it from getting sucked in too early and a little on top to shield the spice from the flame. I manage to clear it all in one hit every time. It seems pretty efficient. I would like to get a GVG soon, as I read that's pretty much the best. And I guess I may have had mild breakthroughs. Just nothing super deep yet.

@tele

I guess it is kind of redundant to describe a DMT trip as strange. Smile
