Anybody got some real info on these alkaloids? Are they really responsible for the more negative effects of syrian rue? Can they really be eliminated by boiling/soaking in acidified aqueous solution (but arent they normal alkaloids that would also become soluble in an acid acqueous solution)?

what about manske extraction, would it eliminate them ? I read people saying that both manske and the boiling in acidic solution help eliminate them, but never saw some info to back these claims up

and what about in the harmala extraction, the final step of adding ammonium hydroxide to the NaCl saturated water to precipitate the b-carbolines, would this also precipitate vasicine/vasicinone/desoxyvasicine ?

what about their pka, anybody knows? If the pka is very different than harmine/harmaline, then one could adjust pH to propper amounts to separate them from the b-carbolines.
