So my friend has just stuck a few grammes of caapi leaf into some IPA, can he expect to get some more potent alkaloids to evaporate onto his Changa? The solution is a dark green, but isn't turning red in sunlight at the moment - will it?

He is hoping so as he feels more MAOI is needed. Damn vine hasn't been delivered either, so little choice at the moment :evil:

Actually I found that the menstruum only turned red in a certain spectrum of light. If I held it up to the sun I didn't notice much. Under the lamp in my closet it was definitely dark red.

Don't worry so much about the color. Your doing everything right so far.

Only 3. It was only a test, didn't have much IPA left... How many grammes of 1:2 Changa would that do?

It will totally do it in the sunlight. Your sure it's caapi leaf? That would be my big question if the color change wasn't present.

99% sure its caapi leaf. How long before it should start turning red?

I have the same problem as purges.i have 10g of hawaiian caapi leaves soaking in pure ethanol since 16.8.
The menstruum has a very dark green colour,but there is no colour change to red in sunlight.

I stuck the solution on my changa any way with some extra alks extracted from some red caapi vine. Seems to do the trick nicely

Yeah the whole colour change thing is not that important imo. If it’s been in a suitable solvent for a week or 2 there’s no way that there won’t be active alks in the menstruum. I have noticed the colour change in all of my endeavours with caapi leaf but I only noticed it in pretty specific light, and even then its hard to tell.
