i couldnt find this anywhere else on the forum an im stuck posting in the nursery,

anyway from may 1st 2011 the sale of all medicinal herbs will be banned in the eu/ britain, im wondering how this will effect the plants/herbs used in ayahuasca, changa and the genreal ext of dmt. it seems the eu are putting tight restrictions on every herb that has any active chemicals/compounds, people will need to apply for a license to sell certain herbs as long as the herb/plant meets certain requirements, this license is set to cost between 80,000-100,000 for each herb meaning many many business will not be able to afford to continue selling etc.
its pretty obvious wot they are trying to achieve.
does anyone know how this will effect people like us that use specific plants, not always as medicine but im sure they are classed as medicinal plants to some degree. seems a rather drastic measure for the eu to be taking, they must have found out how much money the herbal industry is worth an figured without it that money will go the them or the pharma co's
im thinkinf of phoning one or 2 uk suppliers to see if they know about this ban an if it will effect them
heres a link to the actual pdf which details wot its all about etc, this was decided i think in 2004. so its not new.

and a link to wiki with a rundown of the directive.

I think this ban only applies to plants sold as medecinal remedies.

We already had a thread for that: Medicinal Herbs Will Disappear in EU

This new law means that a herb can only be called medicinal if that was actually proven in a clinical trial. You can still buy the herbs like you did before, you just can't label them 'medicinal', 'anti-inflammatory' or 'good versus cancer' anymore.

For some herbs that's just weird since they are known from history to be good for a certain aspect (like the many anti-inflammatory herbs) but for others it's good since you see more and more herbs advertised as some miracle cure that is highly debatable.

Kind regards,
