While I was in Virginia the last couple of day's, my brother showed me 3 movies Sweeney Todd, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas and Being John Malkovich. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other good movies to check out? I also got to have some magic brownies lol, it was the first time for me man I need to get out more.

Let's see. A few years back I was real big into trippy movies and such so I should have some decent recommendations..

- eXistenZ - Serious mind... flip... Interestingly written by the same guy who did Being John Malkovich.
- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - written by same guy. Adaptation and human nature of his both also really good movies.
- The sword and the stone - all turning into creatures and wizards and cute squirrels. Phenomenal!
- Nothing! - creative little romp, lighthearted and playful but nice and psychological too. Fun.
- Cube 1 + 2 (Hypercube) - 1st is less special effects, more... intense character development psychological type deal. 2nd is more trippy I guess (but the first is just chock full of these huge cube rooms of solid colors, booby trapped of course). Its like the first with the added fun of the cubes playing with time as well.

I know I have plenty more buried in this mind somewhere but hey, it's a little disorganized and I don't care to clean up right now. I'll add some more when they come to mind but the above are wonderful.

Also, all these movies twice as good under the influence of LSD....

The odours occasionally wafted from the laboratory were exceedingly strange. Sometimes they were noxious, but more often they were aromatic, with a haunting, elusive quality which seemed to have the power of inducing fantastic images.
People who smelled them had a tendency to glimpse momentary mirages of enormous vistas, with strange hills or endless avenues of sphinxes and hippogriffs stretching off into infinite distance.
- H.P. Lovecraft

Waking Life - lucid dreaming, animation, philosophy, science, insights. puts your head in the right place
Blueberry - good story, good characters, shamanic ritual, aya
The Limits of Control - Jim Jarmusch flick, its probably better if you know nothing about the movie and just watch it. Very psych.
Altered States - sensory deprivation chamber, hallucinatory visions in the name of science, self experimentation

Contact starring Jodie Foster. More science based than trippy, about alien contact. Very good film.

haha yeah journeyman, altered states is rad. If tripping in a sensory deprivation tank is in a movie, i'm all for it.

I heart huckabees is a good one too.. existential detectives - for it.

If you like that, check out Fantastic Mr Fox on a trip.
