The brain injured woman described in this link cannot feel the sensation of fear.

It would be nice to have a button to turn it on and off.

We do have such a 'button', but unfortunately its illegal. It goes by the name of MDMA.....Its been shown to have specific effects on the left amygdala hence the rationale for use in PTSD.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

That was a great article. Thanks for posting it.
I wonder what, if any, effect the more intense psychedelic drugs would have on this woman. I really don't even want to begin to speculate but physically being incapable of fear surely would alter the experience in one way or another.
