So i had around 130 grams of Caapi and decided to make an extract out of it. I did 3 X 2.5 hours boils on the crushed vine, reduced the liquid, basified, kept the decanted product, washed it a couple of times with plain water.

after that i reacidified and let the whole thing decant because i thought it was too much product for that much vine. after around 8 hours a lot of brown gunk settled on the bottom of the jar and the remaining liquid was a clear yellow. So i kept the liquid and threw away the brown crap. I rebasified with sodium carbonate . let the whole precip settle, then washed the precipitate with plain water soi could remove any excess carbonate.

The final result is this : 1.8 grams of light yellow dust. The thing is i think i still have too much and i wonder if i did anything wrong or it could just be that much product .

I noticed the final product is a shade darker than the Rue extract i did a few days ago so i was wandering if this is normal. Also i took a few pics so i was wondering if you could recomnend a way to safely upload them so i could be a little more helpful to you guys .

Thanks in advance Smile

on the top right of your post there is an 'attach' button, you can add the images that way

maybe your caapi is just full of alkaloids, maybe it has considerable amounts of impurities. You could bioassay it and find out, take, say, 200-300mg and see if you feel 'something' by itself without adding dmt.. if you do, its good sign. If you dont, maybe it has quite a lot of impurities and hence why the big yield (so you'll need bigger dosage)

Have you seen this thread yet?

I used black caapi and got a yield of just over 2%, so your yield isn’t necessarily too high. What kind of vine did you use?

It would be nice to see a photo – you say the final product is somewhat dark. It shouldn’t be. The coloration represents impurities.

He actually said that his extract is light yellow, and slightly darker than his rue extract, it seems to be quite usual (that's the color of fv's caapi copy).

FV’s caapi copy is made from rue-extracted alkaloids. No caapi involved.

Pure harmine, THH, and harmaline are all white.

It looks like your product is still not very pure. My extractions have always yielded a pale beige product – in the photo at least, yours looks deep yellow, almost like turmeric.

(Your link doesn’t work, but I managed to view the photo.)
