Awesome!

I was actually surprised to see a thread titled with his name. I figure he is relatively unknown to the masses.

His music is very inspirational, and I've taken a lot of time to study some of his pieces, and pick apart his techniques on the piano.

Philip created a thirteen minute piano solo for the Dalai Lama when he was visiting the US, and although I have the recording, I can not for the life of me figure out what it is called.

I'll try to find it since it is absolutely amazing.

EDIT:
The piece is called, Mad Rush:

It stupefies me each time I hear it. The song engulfs any listener into a world of explosive imagination.
Do not listen to anything, "Steely" says. He is a made up character that his owner likes to role play with. His owner is very delusional and everything he says is completely untrue and ridiculous.

I really disliked his music until now. Minamalism can get terribly repetitive, especially some of Glass's music. I generally like a varied bass line yadee yadee ya...but now I want to hear more, preferably like music in twelve parts. I'll give Mad Rush a go.

Compared to other 20th century composers, he's one of the most well known to classical fans, but if your not Bach, Beethoven, or Mozart most people don't know who you are anyway. Of course, the Nexus attracts a rare breed as it is.Wink

My most beautiful, stronger and mystical psychedelic experience was listening to Philip Glass and taking LSD. I love that guy music. It all started many years ago with the films Koyaanisqatsi and Powaqqatsi, whose tracks are a Glass composition, and never stopped since then.

Ubu is a surreal personage. Everything he does is pure fiction. Everything he says is pure nonsense.

For the life of me I cannot stand Philip Glass's music for more than 10 seconds.

Philip Glass is second only to prison rape on the scale of undesirability.
