Ok I got my aya vine in front of me, for preparation I should shred it befor I cook it for 9 hours correct? Do I need to clean it skin the bark? What is the best way to prepare for cooking?

Wow, I have read that thread 3x befor I poasted and even took 2 1/2 pages worth of notes off of it but I never saw were it said to hammer till after I asked. Thank you for helping me, lol for any consolation it's mentioned once hahaha and worded "but then again maybe they don't have the pleaser of hammering the vine" so I just beet the vine with a baker till it's in workablechunks and I do not wash the outside?

its all good mistman, your learningSmile .

wrap your vine in a towel and hammer away up and down the length of vine. from there your want to use your hands and maybe a little more hammer on the now smaller pieces to make shred like strands. the finer the shred the more surface area for extraction.

yes, 3x3 hour boils using distilled h20 and 2 tablespoon vinegar per gallon. un-cover and allow the water to boil off some when getting to the end of the 3rd hour. this saves time and space for reducing.
filter through t shirt 2x and combine all three washes to reduce. reduce on low heat just under a boil and dont leave un attended. reduce to desired ration of caapi to fluid oz's. i prefer 1oz=50g caapi. makes it easy to do the math when dosing.

good travels
