From step 5A in BLAB :

' To get rid of orangey smell and extra d-limonene, you can put the dmt fumarate in around 20ml of water and then evaporate on a hotplate. Alternatively, you can also wash your JIMJAM fumarate with a cold IPA or cold acetone or FASI wash. '

1)Where does the limonene go in the water cleaning process?

2)How does a curious individual do a FASI wash exactly?

3)If one feels that your freebase is not clean enough how would you go about cleaning it - if the only chemicals available were those used to do the BLAB tek?

Thanks for all help and opinionsSmile

the water will dissolve dmt fumarates, releasing trapped limonene from inside the crystal lattices and therefore give it more time to evap/dry in the hotplate. Limonene doesnt evaporate completely clean if one evaps a bigger amount, but since there will only be traces of limo in the fumarates, the water clean up will help get rid of it.

2- Just put dmt fumarate in container, add FASI (Which wont dissolve fumarates), shake like hell, decant/filter and dry the fumarates again)

3- whatever you feel like doing, all will be fine, probably even no wash will be fine, except your stuff will smell of limo.

Quite often when doing something such as this, the better starting materials, the better your end product and the easier to attain a pure product it is. Sometimes a little more investment will reap greater rewards.
