Could one try this as a changa sample? Options

SWIM is in the middle of extractions and doesn't really have enough spice on hand to make a batch of changa just yet. However, he wants to try to sample the Golden Temporal recipe (Pau d'Arco:1, Spice:1, Caapi 10x: .3). Swim read that one could gently melt some spice into some Pau to infuse the d'arco. Could one then put the caapi extract on top of the infusion and sample it?

Or, could one simply smoke the caapi 10x first, then immediately hit the Pau/Spice?

Or, perhaps better yet, could one do each individually one after the other? Caapi, then Pau, then spice?

Swim has so far been putting some caapi leaf on top of ash/spice in a pipe and it has worked well as far as he can tell. Certainly different than just spice alone.

Thank you so much for everyone's information and help on this forum!

trying to infuse the herbs by melting sounds like a disaster IMO... but... heres a better option:

1. combine the caapi and pau and 'break it up' so it is manageable for smoking
2. go to your local grocery store and buy some 91% isopropl alcohol (70% works too but evaps slower)
3. disolve the spice in the alcohol
4. spread your herbs evenly across the bottom of a coffee mug
5. pour the spicey alcohol into the mug with the herbs. if there isnt enough liquid to submerge the herbs just pour in some fresh alcohol till it covers the herbs.
6. swirl it around for about 10 seconds and set the mug somewhere and wait at least 24 hrs.

ta-dah! changa!

Thank you for the tek, mogascreeta. Heh...SWIM agrees and promises to be extra careful if melting! He read it on here, though, and it went well enough in that occasion. SWIM has plenty of 91% on hand and he checked here earlier today to make sure it would work (affirmative he was told). He cannot wait to make changa properly :-)

However, SWIM and his wife are interested in sampling tonight. So...will one of the suggested methods above work better than another? Will they work well enough to possibly give them a taste of Golden Temporal? Me thinks SWIM will give it a go at least at a low dose no matter what ;-)

It's worth doing it right and not rushing the process. Mogascreeta's advice is sound - and it's a very special blend, worth waiting for.

Sure you can. Itt should work fine for a sample but don't use it for bigger batches because its tricky to get an even distribution of spice among the herb this way ..and some loss of product is to be expected.

So swim made a small batch of Golden Temporal with 20mg spice last night using the "quick" method of using butane lighter refill. SWIM thinks the spice wasn't pure enough to get completely soaked into the mixture, but it gave him a VERY relaxed and comfortable feeling. So a few hours later SWIM did this:

1) put 40mg Pau d'Arco and 15mg Caapi white leaf 10x extract in a glass pipe and smoked it
2) put 40mg spice in an ash/spice/caapi leaf sandwich in another pipe and vaped it over 3 hits spread out a few minutes between each

The result was great! A longer trip report may come later, but in summary, SWIM cried from joy and emotion at the end...and that's always a good sign for SWIM :-) He reached a place after an easy peak where he felt like he could *sort of* communicate with tons of entities around him while VERY sober. No foggy mind and his body was completely comfortable. He felt like he could have talked to someone in the room with him as well as the entities he was seeing with eyes closed. SWIM has been to a similar space once before with just caapi leaf/spice but it didn't last very long and he wasn't as clear-headed at the time. SWIM can't wait to try his proper mixture that is drying currently and thinks this could be a space where some sort of work could be accomplished.

As the CEVs faded, SWIM felt he was given a "good-bye" visual and was overcome with emotion when realizing how sober he felt and was having contact of some sort with another dimension. This was SWIMs first time he really felt he could interact with something in a DMT space.

SWIM can't thank everyone on this board enough for their time and information. The changa and recipe information specifically is something he would probably not have come across easily. Cannot wait to try Electric Sheep when the ingredients arrive this week!

Thank you!
