Any suggestions? Maybe we could construct a definitive list. Here's my ideal inventory of equipment, materials and supplies:


Essential Inventory Items:

-Plant Material
-Footlocker w/ Lock (for security and organization)
-Binder (for data, notes and teks)
-Crockpot w/ Evap Dish (for heat bathing)
-Digital mg Scale w/ Accessories + Spare Batteries
-PH Meter w/ Spare Batteries
-Distilled Water
-Janitorial Strength Ammonia (for crystal wash)
-Distilled White Vinegar (for lye spills and potentially for salt conversion)
-Lye (for basification)
-VM&P Naphtha (NPS)
-Jars w/ Lids (for lye solution, for HCl solution, for acidification, for basification, for NPS collection and for crystallization)
-Pipettes (for NPS extraction)
-Surgical Tubing (for siphoning NPS)
-Vials/Test-Tubes (for crystal storage)
-Stirrers (for stirring and scraping)
-Coffee Filters (for crystal filtration)
-Strainers (for straining plant material and to aide in crystal filtration)
-Cotton Flour Sacks and/or Cheese-Cloth (for straining plant material)
-Gloves (for handling chemicals)
-'The Machine' w/ Torch Lighter

Incase anyone's interested... You can get 2-3 REALLY nice short metal stirring rods (perfect for many tasks) by opening up an old CD rom drive.

They're in the drive unit, and covered with grease. Just give a good whipedown with alcohol and put them in the dish washer.

These are generally nickel coated, and sometimes gold coated, to prevent oxidization.
