SWIM used 69ron's food-based mesc extraction (you're the man ron) from pachanoi and has ended up with alot of white salt-like crystals mixed in with the amber colored mescaline acetate. What is this and is there a method to wash it? Excess vinegar was used in the separator step, could this have something to do with it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you tried washing with acetone?

No, MEK is methyl ethyl ketone and acetone is dimethyl ketone. (If you are interested, MEK is CH3C(=O)CH2CH3 and acetone is CH3C(=O)CH3). They are similar chemically. I guess you could use acetone instead of MEK if you can't get it.

Excess vinegar will evaporate away. Acetone can NOT be used to clean mesc. acetate, since it will dissolve everything including the mescaline. The white bits could just be purer crystal formations. Got a pic?

You are right, Guevara. I had mescaline HCl in my mind all the time instead of the acetate salt Confused !

Its def not pure mescaline, it weighs over 3 grams! off of just one pull. Could this possibly be the calcium hydroxide in the limonene or is it a by-product of limonene (citric acid possibly)?

Sorry no pic but it seems to be very light and crystally, not like the dark amber putty as I've seen on other mesc acetate teks.

It's not going to be calcium hydroxide since that doesn't dissolve in limonene, and there wouldn't be more than trace amounts (think parts per million) of citric acid in limonene. Most limonene will have 0% citric acid.

Some people have reported similar strange formations using the resin tek. Might want to search those threads ("Resin, the way to go" and 'resin update' IIRC).
