Shivaya

I would suggest working your way in slowly with mushies, the strength of the experience really can be strain dependent. I had 1.5 grams of Transkeis crossed with Penis Envy and it was the most powerful and mind bending journey I have had with mushrooms as the walls started melting and all of my external reality ceased to exist.

Set and setting can also influence your journey so try and prepare yourself for the experience as much as possible. Some people myself included are extremely sensitive to mushrooms, it is of the utmost importance to go into the experience without fear or expectation. I wish you the best of luck for your journey and I would love to hear how it goes. Just remember there is nothing to fear other than yourself.

Have you not done DMT either? That's what you should be intimidated by. Mushrooms are powerful. Take 1.5grams or 2grams and get the feel for it. Then when you want a full experience take 3-5grams.

I assume this:

Quote:

wow

Is a good wow?

I hope so! All said, mushrooms are my favorite entheogen. They're nuts, fun, terrifying, and beautiful. They're not to be taken lightly, unless they take you lightly, in which case embrace the fun! Sometimes they're almost like an f'd up uncle that get's you drunk, lets you drive a car, you get in a crash and then the uncle splits before the cops arrive letting you take all the blame. But for whatever reason, that uncle is still so lovable.

But that's just my take...Very happy

Well that's cool. No worries! The OP posted only about 2 weeks ago!

The suspense is killing me! I wanna hear about the trip! I'm going to sit right here, not moving from my computer, refreshing every 30 seconds until Shivaya graces us with more than "wow" (though "wow" is still pretty juicy).

I thought this quote was somewhat relevant:

This is why beginners almost never have bad trips, because somebody in there looks at your clipboard and says “this guy has never done this before so lay off the rough stuff, just bring him through the standard number” It’s the people who consider themselves experienced who’ve done it 30, 40 times, it says “we can take the gloves off with this guy.

There's also this:

John Hopkins University researchers will be publishing a new paper this week in the journal Psychopharmacology, which claims to have "zeroed in on the perfect dosage level to produce transformative mystical and spiritual experiences that offer long-lasting life-changing benefits, while carrying little risk of negative reactions." Astonishingly, the numbers are even more impressive in this most recent study. Over the course of four separate sessions with healthy volunteers, "94 percent of participants rated it as one of the top five most spiritually significant experiences of their lifetimes," while "89 percent reported lasting, positive changes in their behavior--better relationships with others, for instance, or increased care for their own mental and physical well-being. Those assessments were corroborated by family members and others. " It appears that by giving the right dosage of the drug, one can nearly guarantee a positive experience with the drug.

Researchers Identify "Perfect Dosage Level" for Magic Mushrooms

Hooray for science!

Now, IIRC this "perfect dosage" of psilocybin is about about equivalent to what would be found in ~ 1.75g of standard cubensis.

In the words of our good friend house, you'll be fine champ! Thumbs up

Dreamer042: I couldn't help but notice that they never actually say anywhere in the article what exactly that magic dosage is.
Did I miss it? (I read it through three times), or do they not want to say because then people will rush off and have good mushroom trips?

I suppose they assumed not many people to possess the equipment and ability to measure doses accurately, since individual mushrooms can vary in potency.

"The latest Psilocybin study at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine set out to discover the "sweet spot" dose of pure chemical Psilocybin that would offer users all the positive benefits while minimizing the negative effects."

The dosage seems to be 20mg/70 kg. According to the dosage calculator on shroomery, a gram of cubes should contain about 5,6mg of Psilocybin, so for a 70 kg person that would be just under 3,6 grams of dried material (which according to the calculator should be about a level 4 trip). I don't know, but I imagine taking mushrooms and taking pure Psilocybin might differ in some way.
