Hello Ladies and Fellas!
Iam new here and I hope thats the right place.
A friend has a big problem while he tried to convert his ultra clean DMT Fumarate to freebase.
He mixed about 245mg Fumarate with ~400mg sodium carbonate and puted a few drops of water on it. While he mixed and crushed the little rocks wich became directly after the water was added, and spread the mixture evenly and thin over the glassplate - it was mostly dried now.
Now he added water to wash it as shown in step 4 but all of the Paste just solved again in the water and nothing was left at the ground?

He made the sodium carbonate out of sodium bicarbonate by heating it for about ~max 20 mimutes on top of a heatingplate. He dried now the water-"sodium carbonate"-fumarate mixsolvent and scratched that powder to ask the community for help!
Please tell him that he hasnt wasted his DMT...! Crying or very sad

Thanks!

If you didn't throw it away then nothing to worry, you haven't lost anything.

You could just pull with IPA/ethanol/acetone and evap to harvest your DMT from the sodiumcarb/dmtfumarate dry mix, if you're willing to change your plans a bit.

I haven't done the amor fati's conversion and clean up with water, so I can't comment too much on that. From his description it seems the DMT will stick to the glass and what is washed away is the excess sodium carb/sodium fumarate. Is it possible something stuck to the glass and it just didnt seem like much so you were mislead? Was the glass totally clean after passing water over it?

Ahh, good to hear. He didnt throwed it away!

Yea thats what he thought it would do but it completely solved again...
How would he have to do it with Acetone? Can this be liquid Acetone too?

Thank you so much!

You just put the alkaloid/salts/base mix in a glass and add enough solvent to cover everything and a bit more, and stir the whole thing, let it sit for a couple of minutes so the undissolved stuff (sodium carbonate/fumarate) settles on the bottom, then pour the solvent off and filter it (if using acetone make sure the funnel is of glass or some material that doesnt dissolve in acetone) and pour it into a glass dish/tray, repeat 2x more and let the solvent evap.

What do you mean with 'liquid acetone' ,what other acetone is there?

Big thanks again for your answer!
Alright, will try that but I dont really understand how I filter it.
When its settled down, I pour the acetone thru a coffeefilter in a other glass dish, then pour some new Acetone again in the first container until its covered again und Filter it again thru a coffeefilter in the glassdish where the first filtered solvent is and one more time the same.
After that, I just have to evap the acetone.
Is that right?

I've read about dry or anhydrated acetone. Thats why, but now I know.

Anhydrous acetone ("dry acetone") is acetone that has had water removed through the use of a dehydrating agent such as calcium sulfate or magnesium sulfate. Acetone readily absorbs moisture from the atmosphere; normal acetone straight from the bottle will have been exposed to the atmosphere to a greater or lesser extent and small amounts of water affect what will dissolve in the acetone. While this is of particular relevance in mescaline purification, normal damp acetone as you would pour it out of the bottle will also dissolve more organic salts than acetone that has been dried. Thus, it is worth dehydrating your acetone to get a purer product. The same applies to ethanol or isopropanol although the drying methods with alcohols tend to be less simple.

The process of drying acetone is described in detail in various places here at the Nexus. Take a look at the wiki for starters. Typically people use magnesium sulfate that has been baked in a hot oven or heated in a microwave oven to drive off the water of crystallisation that this salt normally contains.

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Yes your description is perfect Smile

At the end you'll probably have some blobs of liquid that take a while longer to evaporate. Keep scraping/rescrapping it against the dish until it hardens up, that's your DMT

From what you described it should be a freebase

DMT fumarate + sodium carbonate excess = sodium fumarate + unreacted sodium carbonate + DMT freebase. Only DMT freebase will dissolve in dry acetone/ethanol/IPA

Let us know if you vap/ingest it, how it was...

Good luck!
