Greetings everyone. I’m detailing my extraction experience in my intro essay but after my probably last wash and salting for now I’d like to as some questions that i haven’t been able to answer. I’ll assume you are familiar with Q21Q21 tec 1 and try to be brief.
200 g mhrb split in two quart jars. After the lime was added (consistency 1) jars sat for 3 days. Did 3 (jar 1) and 2 ( jar two) pulls and saltings. Oven evaporation yeilded 1:18 g of lovely brownish reddish goo.
Jars sat 8 days. Did a pull each jar las night and again just now. I’m big on precision and regularity.
1. Past the 2nd pull I twice got small gloops and last night once a big glob of grayish oily looking stuff right where the d limo and the salted liquid meet Please make my day and tell me this was ick I don’t want because it’s gone. Other post possibly suggest plant oils that I don’t want.
2. Should 200g mhrb have absorbed approximately 20 of 24oz limonene in 9 pulls? I expected absorption but not that much, even with my occasional drips and tiny spills.
3. At this point I have very thin chocolate pudding looking plant matter left. Is it still worth purchasing more d limo for more pulls, assuming tomorrow I get similar results as before and end up with around 2 g from 200g. I’m not worried about getting every last molecule, unless there’s something that comes only from extremely broken down matter that’s extra tasty. If I do should I dry it in the oven first?
4. Is there a simple household friendly way to reclaim absorbed d limo?
5. My baster bulb cracked so I instead used a long, flexible plastic straw filled with water to create a siphon to remove the saltings. This appears to transfer significantly less d limo residue than the baster and is easily controlled by raising or lowering the tip. Big improvement!
Peace
