I've tried to search about performing the ipomoea LSA extraction going straight to the ethanol step, skipping the naptha altogether. Does anyone have any insight into this shortcut?

not using ipomea but Argyreia nervosa. The simpliest way is to do a cold water extraction.
Results are said great by ppl, it cost almost nothing (a pinch of water).
You can go straight with ethanol too.

Sure, I'm glad to hear it, but why not Ipomoea?
It seems that many methods mention Ipomoea as a substitute as long as you use the right amount of seeds. Should I be wary?

I've noticed that a dose is just a dozen, or so, seeds as opposed to >100 for the Ipomoea. You sound like you've sourced it more than once. Is your favorite supplier listed in the "Sustainable Suppliers" section?

I just grow Argyreia and some friends have too, so easier sourcing Thumbs up

You should grow it as until 1year it starts flowering, then seeding.

You're probably one of the few ones, who luckily lives in a corresponding climate zone, as Argyreia Nervosa is quite delicate regarding temps, and as a pot plant it's root-bound, so unless you have an incredible big pot, they won't flower.

But I personally still prefer Ipomoea Tricolor, as it has a purer profile and because it's basically impossible to get fresh Argyreia Nervosa, where I live...
Also as dwh said, even if you do just a CWE it doesn't really matter anymore how many seeds you need.

Well IMHO it wouldn't make much sense, then I would rather do a CWE, as less stuff is soluble in it.

Instead of a naptha wash, you can also do a vegetable oil soak, if you like.

The seeds do contain ambiphilic glycosides (non-cyanogenic), meaning they are fat and water soluble. So by first doing a fat wash, they will get out, as well as other stuff, like fats. As the ergolines are in a non-lipophilic form, they should stay.

I claim not that this is the truth. As this is just what got manifested into my mind at the current position in time on this physical plane. So please feel not offended by anything I say.
