I love these little guys! It's been painfully dry and warm here, according to a lot of other hunters they are coming up empty, but to boast a little, this has been the best ever for me and the love keeps growing.
This spot is a few acres and shared with tons of wildlife,, awesome place to hunt (and partake!) and I've located 6 separate patches there! So far over 12 pounds fully mature specimens harvested, 100s of pins setting at this moment...it's magic!
After a couple days of cold rain we went to check on it and found lots of new growth and even a totally new patch. I've also drenched the place with about 6 gallons worth of black spore slurry...next year...
Plus some of the ones left to grow during the"drought" didn't mature and went black from frost?
EDIT EDIT EDIT: i dunno why it takes so long to upload sometimes...and e why some are sideways and others upside down...ugh
