Would adding zinc to STB water convert dmt-oxide to dmt? Dmt-oxide is NOT soluble in water, but DMT obviously is Very happy.

So my idea is that this would allow the older oxidized dmt to convert back to dmt via zinc addition thus improving STB yield of older/more exposed bark.

Would the Zinc react to the NaOH, or allow other baddies to be pulled with naptha?

Just an idea peace and love.

The reaction with zinc occurs in acidic conditions, and STB water is of course very very basic so I don't think that would work. Yes then you have the problem of the base acting on the zinc as well.
