I plan on doing this extraction very soon. Since I'm aware of the importance of black pepper use with turmeric I was wondering if anyone has some information or a good idea of what would be a good ratio for turmeric : black pepper.

I choose to work with coconut oil which also has many health benefits on it's own and I have whole rhizomes of turmeric available, thankfully, and not only the pulverized form.

Just find a recipe for "golden paste" using the search engine of your choice.

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Here are some links with basic information on this wonderful plant called turmeric/curcuma.

Basics are: it's a plant used traditionally as a spice in asian cuisine. Also in ayurveda and tradiotional chinese medicine. There are many studies on turmeric about it's health benefits for example: antiinflamatory, antioxidant, adaptogen, against cancer also, etc. It is most recognized for a substance that it cointains called curcumin. Curcumin can be extracted and it apparently works as a mild MAOi. Some user have reported mild psychedelic intoxication from it. Curcumin has very low bioavailability on itself - this can be greatly improved however with the adition of black pepper which contains a substance called piperine.

I like to take about a 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric toss it in a coffee mug. Grind a bit of black pepper on top. Take a dab of coconut oil and then pour hot water on it. Let it sit for 5 minutes (or until cool enough) and toss it back.

You will most definitely feel the effects of turmeric if you do this first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.

Peace
