I disagree.

As dubstep came from dudes in Croydon doing dub remixes of 2-step tunes, hence dub-step, dubstep generally has the rythmic feel of dub in the low with elements of 2-step/UK bass modulation and the snare placement of dub with elements of skippy 2-step/garagey bits in the high-end percussion.

Used to sound like this:

Now everyone thinks that any electronic music that has a slower feel and modulated bass is dubstep.

Jus' sayin'... don't mean to be too perdantic Razz

Allow me to introduce you to our lord and savior Kursa
https://soundcloud.com/kursauk

The amount of material you'll see if you subscribe to his bandcamp is crazy. He released 3 EPs in the last month alone. Very experimental but halftime/dubstep/DnB/glitch influenced. Incredible sound design.

Not really into DnB much but there is some amazing halftime/glitch/dubstep sections going on in this mix. Lots of unreleased kursa, seppa, chee, billain, etc.

YES, as a fan of the original sound of Dubstep I stand corrected. Your right.

Having visited a massive multitude of genre's raves over the last decade, IMHO Dubstep has the most diverse and varied range of sounds of any dance genre. I guess I should have just said: "Here is one of my latest contributions to that palette" and left it at that.

My sounds sound like my current fave offshoot sub-genre of it ATM, but will never replace or attempt to beat the original dubiness and classic sound.

See, that's the kind of Dubstep I REALLY don't like. Too screetchy. Grates my ears and if you think my tune sounds like japanoise or danger you are defo VERY far from the truth IMO.

Unfortunately the first song isn't available :/

However, I do agree with what soulfood said.. Dubstep should be Dub + Step.

Bass music has awesome stuff all around the board though. Kursa is dope btw, thanks for sharing! (Like actually this is tight af)
I'll share some (imo) high quality deep bass music as well Smile
