These rather pretty fluffy guys precipitated themselves in small clumps at room temp in a bottle of used toluene (decanted after FASA settling 'pulls' *).

Would I be right in assuming this is mainly DMT Fumarate? All I got from the main process was a bunch of very fine powder, similar color, scraped with much effort off the sides and bottoms of the receiving flask. There were a few crystal chunks on the sides but nothing anywhere near as crackly crystally or beautiful as this (and most of these were on the bottom).

Retrieved about 1.2g total fumarate from 50g bark plus additional spent basified solution. Then I saw these in the discard bottle soon to be washed and recycled! They thing is these fell off the glass very easily, no scraping necessary, just a soft tap to nudge them loose - more like freeze precip crystals and very much unlike the rest of the fumarate which precipitated into a very hard crust on the glass.

*Cyb Max Ion tek mhrb with only toluene pulls for full spectrum Fumarate plus some used on mhrb previous pulled 6x with Pet Ether

Could be fumaric acid precipitated as the acetone evaporated. Do some chemical tests to find out if there's any DMT fumarate present.

Marquis, Mecke, Mandelin, those kind of reagents. And test a blank of fresh fumaric acid for comparison.

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Thanks, I'll have to try and get hold of some of those.

Available in drug testing reagent kits.

Simple tests without using colour reagents:

If the crystals are fumaric acid, they'll dissolve in alkali. DMT won't.

Fumaric acid is only difficultly soluble in water, whereas DMT fumarate is rather more easily so, as well as being hygroscopic. If a sample of the crystals dissolves in water (use distilled water!), try adding a drop of alkali; DMT fumarate will cloud up (but so would a calcium salt).
