I'm currently writing a piece of fiction. It could be a standalone short story, or it might end up being the first chapter/prologue to a novel. Some of the events in the story are - lets say "inspired by" some DMT experiences Ive had.

I did some research but I wasn't able to come up with a good answer to a question that I had.

In what part of your brain does DMT create the geometric patterns and other visual effects. Do we know roughly how this happens?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today,
I wish, I wish he'd go away.

Very rough breakdown.
Psychedelic messes with the messaging in you brain.
Visual cortex gets "wrong" information. You get wrong vision.
