basically rue tea with vinegar, uknown quantities (forgot) in 3l jar.
added 100gr naoh, and the liquid separated in 2 distinct phases. weird as hell...

extremely stable.
2 hours later, the bottom layer is exhausted. top layer no change at all.
how does rue defeats the laws if thermodynamics? Shocked
if you are a chemist, and understand why this is happening, please share.

What it looks like to me is that a good portion of the alks crashed out and sunk to the bottom in such a density that the water on the bottom half is being blocked from the UV. The top layer is still glowing because there is still alks that didn't crash out, and the liquid is clear enough that it's reacting to the UV light.

That's the only thing I can think of that would be going on. I'm no chemist though.
