SWIM was wondering how just how reactive limonene is with HCl and sulfuric acid solutions. Would a solution of pH1-pH2 of sulfuric acid react with limonene?

it would be a different story if KMnO4 or NBS were in the mix.

though sulfuric acid has been shown to polymerize isoprenes units

Damn, you're onto SWIM.... Well, in any case, SWIM's not too worried about the possibility of limonene coming into contact with KMnO4.
