James Oroc talks about him in his book Tryptamine Palace and that is how i got to know about him and his book. James says that in his mind they are both describing same/similar experience but he labels it positive and Robert negative.
Roberts book
Darkness Shining Wild is one of my all time favorite books; covers a wide range of existential topics, including his months of terror/integration of his high dose 5-MeO experience. It's beautifully written; id say close to a masterpiece.
I remember Oroc saying it was negative, but I don't think that was the case from reading it imo; guess it would depend on who reads DSW and interprets it as such. I saw Roberts book as brutally honest and visceral, a really great, thick read.
Although after his 5-MeO experience he had several months after where every night he would enter extremely profound transcendental states, and his reaction was terror more or less, and this led him to a major difficulty in coping. I wont give away the ending, but lets just say there was certainly a silver lining in his profound journey and it's honestly one of the most well written books that i've read in a long time. Mirrors many of my feelings on the DMT experience in general.
Highly recommended.
