what's an acetone extraction? foaf today got 2 pounds wet weight of phragmites rhizomes, he pulled them out from the water while on a boat, one in maybe ten stalks will give easily, others will not give at all. result is about two feet long thumb thick rhizome and according to the internets it contains more dmt than soil grown plants

THIS is a really old thread but i wondered did extracting Phragmites Australis ever lead any were. couldn't find much more info

Phragmites sounds like little insects of some sort.. one shouldn't extract things from them..

Some people claim that freshly harvested roots harvested from deeper water may prove fruitful.

My only experience is that TCM lu gen can be used to make a rather tasty tincture. The roots contain abundant sugar, syringaldehyde (which tastes similar to vanillin) and a bit of tannin. It's very like sweet whisky.
