did a 10g dose of Atlantis sclerotia yesterday with two friends. a very enjoyable trip overall, nice visuals, friendly overall vibe... but the main thing that bothered us was a thorough 'speedy' feeling. we were all very restless, had fairly severe jaw tension and couldn't sleep for shit last night.

one of my friends said the trip felt just like being on MDMA apart from the visuals. i've had mushrooms before, never sclerotia, but these symptoms are new to me and almost make me think these were cut with speed or something.

has anyone else had similar experiences with sclerotia? i loved the trip and would really like to do 15g next time, but these symptoms are exactly what put me off MDMA indefinitely. once the trip is over i'd like to be able to sleep and not feel like i'm ending up with chronic lockjaw. bit of a bummer.

thanks in advance!

I've never eaten sclerotia, but your comment does beg the question - how exactly would your truffles have been cut with speed?

I can't say I've ever had this kind of effect with sclerotia before.

Do you happen to know what strain it was?

i have no idea, maybe they added a bunch of weird stimulants to the soil? i'm not an expert on sclerotia cultivation.

dreamer042 - Atlantis? is that a strain?

We're you somewhere comfortable? That speedy feeling might have actually been a build up of nervous energy. The truffles are very clean compared to cubes. Perhaps all those visuals and a very clear mind made the trip feel speedy as well.

yeah, very comfortable, everything was fine honestly. these were exact MDMA symptoms for all three of us, restlessness, painful tight jaws and inability to sleep. i'm positive this was the substance and not some psychosomatic thing.

I do get some kind of restlessness with sclerotia, especially if they are strong, but not this painful tight jaws, maybe a bit tensed jaws. I eat them fresh too.

Those symptoms do sound like some sort of stimulant or phen or amphetamine type action, I've never seen that happen with a tryptamine. Psilocybe Atlantis is rare to find in the wild but it has a decent record of cultivation and plenty of reports mention it a typical psilocybe experience without the symptoms you mentioned.

Had your friends tripped on mushrooms before too ? If not they might have became suggestible from your experience or simply held the opinion that it was speedy... but you say you have had shrooms before too, so... hmmm.

I wonder if a small piece of tissue cause an obvious colour change on a reagent test, I wonder ? Or would it simply not be concentrated enough/ too many other chems present in the cells etc ?

Wherever did you get these from... (don't answer that Razz).

well, they're legal (and regulated) here in the Netherlands.

my friends hadn't tripped before but i doubt they'd become suggestible as my friend was running around cleaning the kitchen like a 60s housewife on speed before i even mentioned the tight jaws, haha.

i guess i'll never know, gonna try a different strain next time and see what happens.
