Recently the rabbit has noticed a rather unpleasant taste lingering in its mouth, that is remniscent of dmt. It is unsure whether this is actually caused by dmt usage or not. However, no matter what it tries (brushing, flossing, mouthwash -both alcohol and non-alcohol, gargling with baking soda, etc), the taste keeps returning. Sometimes stronger than other times.

It is remniscent of the smell/taste of a pipe after it has been used to vaporize dmt a few times, probably the smell of indole/skatole. Nobody else seems to be put off by it (the rabbit's significant other does not detect anything off, even when kissing) but it's definitely there.

The rabbit has, as a result of this, stopped using inhalation as an administration method..but so far it hasn't changed much.

Anybody else experience this/know what to do about it?

Do more dmt Big grin
"A troop of elves smashes down your front door and rotates and balances the wheels on the after death vehicle, present you with the bill and then depart. And it's completely paradigm shattering. I mean, ya know, union with the white light you could handle. An invasion of your apartment by jeweled self dribbling basketballs from hyperspace that are speaking in demonic Greek is NOT something that you anticipated and could handle!' -T.M.

Could be tonsil stones! They can smell very mothball-esque, like our beloved molecule. Had the same problem and turns out that was it, for me anyways.

Of course, I have had the same problem after a particularly excessive honeymoon phase, that was definitely not tonsil stones, because it went away on its own. But I mean, EXCESSIVE.

How often do you imbibe?
Once in a while, you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

I get a subtle DMT taste in the back of my throat every time I meditate, but only when I meditate.
Fear, belief, love phenomena that determined the course of our lives. These forces begin long before we are born and continue after we perish. We cross and recross our old paths like figure skaters; our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.

It was imbibing about 2x a week give or take, with an oral experience every 1-3 weeks, for not a very long period of time. Nothing too heavy. Though the few times it did do a noticeable amount in a small window of time, the rabbit could smell the stuff on its body (not quite as potent as this smells/tastes though)

Will look into tonsil stones, since the rabbit never went to the vet to get them removed, and that's a possibility. A scarier thought is that the rabbit lung/throat is coated in tryptamine metabolites, but that's probably an unfounded fear.

The fact that it has abstained, and the taste is still there, says that the tonsil stone theory could be right. Unless they have some weird bacteria doing weird things to tryptophan in its body Razz But given its close attention to detail regarding dental hygiene, I doubt that too.

The strangest thing about "long-term" effects of DMT to me, in my experience and my brain - have been - inability to have a normal sleep as I feel like I am at the "Godhead". I will wrestle around all night with my eyes closed but never get a REM sort of sleep. However, I wake up and feel fine. This sort of comes and goes and I have been to a doctor and I am healthy. Many times this happens if I have been drinking too much... I almost imagine it's the DMT Realm putting a limit on my drinking but obviously that is more than likely false, lol!

Another thing that I noticed is that if I drink a lot one night I will get the DMT taste the next day. I definitely think DMT has side-effects but the positive effects greatly outweigh the "negative" - that is to say that I respect DMT so much that I appreciate those "negatives".

One of these days I will go for a ceremony to defeat my addiction to alcohol.

I'm sure you knew this, but alcohol actually causes the body not to enter REM sleep properly. It makes you feel more tired and allows you to fall asleep easier, but your quality of sleep actually suffers from it. The whole "I slept 8 hours but it feels like I only slept 2" syndrome.

I experience this taste almost daily as well.
Possibly the energy of the plants channeling messages through our communication-hole.

Something which may never be understood.

First off, DMT doesn't have that odour if you're vaping it properly. The odour only comes from DMT if the flame is getting to the goods.

I started using inter-dental brushes a couple of month back and the stuff I get out of my teeth has that indole smell if its been stuck there a little while.

Mouth's really are filthy places so there could be a number of areas where the odour could be coming from, but inhaling DMT will not cause that smell in the long term.
