Quote:His exact quotes were as follows...
"Ayahuasca is social"
"it's part of a group experience"
"sitting around the campfire and singing the songs and supporting one another"
"but psilocybin is not like that"
"psilocybin is the journey of the alone into the alone"
IME DMT is hardly social. And I understand that ayahuasca is often taken in a group setting but it is far from being able to be called social. It is the journey of the alone into the alone. Vaporized DMT is just that.
IMO lsd, mushrooms, mescaline, and DMT are all the journey of the alone into the alone when taken in their proper doses for that type of experience. My issue was that he doesn't seem to understand this and he talks like he knows.
Great guy I just think he should have stuck with talking about his experience with mushrooms rather than psychedelics he has no experience with.
Agreed! Ayahuasca is used socially in ceremonies, yes. It's always personal. As with any entheogen. Then you share your experiences with others in the group. Some people even use it in their home with loved ones or by themselves.. it's all the same deal. Traditional ways have profound understandings. So could friendly gatherings around fire.
Psilocybin is completely different. I had life changing experiences with friends. It's also incredible to do alone. Neither is greater than the other. They both are amazing allies to work with.
DMT specifically is not social, no. Especially if you are alone. It works just as well with a sitter. Ayahuasca ceremonies are comforted by the larger group setting.
I've never met him.. so I can't know whether or not he knows. His presentation was specifically on mushrooms anyways. So yesm mentioning other psychedelics was unnecessary but complimenting nonetheless.
'What's going to happen?' 'Something wonderful.'
Skip the manual, now, where's the master switch?
