Are there any reports of chronic pain being relieved (long term) from the use of psychedelics, in particular psilocybin or DMT?

Interesting read, thanks!

In my own case, I have cervical Spondylosis, which makes the muscles in the neck very tense, and a disc in my mid back that occasionally slips on the right side (it may also be a bone spur, have not done a MRI of that yet), but the whole right side of my body is weaker, and in greater pain than the left. Before the cervical problem, and since, I have had wide spread chronic pain - fibromyalgia type symptoms, Myofacial type pain. I do everything that one should for such things, yoga, meditation, mostly vegetarian diet, normal weight, swimming, and I need to have massage about every 5 days or my body begins to seize up.

I'm wondering if there could be a psychosomatic/psychological component that affects the fascia, tendons, muscles, and if psychedelics have helped anyone with similar conditions in the long term?

Not qualified on those ailments but I'd spent 4 1/2 months in a full body cast and hurt like #$%! for over 30 years. Found an outfit called Nikken, biomagnetic therapy devices. Wrapped myself in them, put them in my shoes, sat on the magnetic seat while driving, and slept on a giant king sized mattress. 4 days later, my life had changed. I was a whole man again, with a full walking stride and joints that didn't make sounds when I moved them.

Spent the next 4 years bringing that joy to as many hurt people as I could and lordy knows, I know ALLOT! of hurt people. Many of them with issues the same as your, if not truly worse. 98% of all that checked it out, received benefits. Many, as dramatic as my results, others not as amazing but all the same life enhancing.

Only just started my journey here in this arena of experience, so no answer to your question but I take the premise that, that which holds me together in the best state to function, is my friend! Thumbs up

Not sure about advertising policy here or other items so, just to be clear I'm not adverting my business. No longer involved, reached a nice Silver level and I'm happy.

Check them out, you can join or not Razz Oh a tip, if you find a consultant in your area, see if you can get them to guarantee your first purchase. If it does what you need it to do, you'll know. I always did that, never got any returns. I'd recommend the seats or the shoe inserts.

Certain serotonergic psychedelics have pretty powerful vasoconstrictive properties, so if any of your pain is the result of swelling, they might provide some relief.

I'm not a doctor though.

Thanks for those thoughts, and to Handel for the PM, can't PM yet myself, but much appreciated the ideas about diet. I did try a 'candida' diet for about 2 months a few years ago, no sugar, breads, just high protein and veggies. I did feel good, with some changes to the chronic pain. I do remember at that time before the diet after evening meals my body would crash, and I would often feel pain, but with the candida diet I noticed that didn't happen and I felt as though I had much more energy still in the evenings. That hasn't been a problem for a few years now, but I'm eating much better than I used to.

I have pretty similar issues (left/right polar tension, scoliosis, poor motor control, chronic nerve & muscle pain, etc) that have been around for as long as I can remember, and while I can't say that psychedelics relieve the pain, they certainly do help in working through it. LSD, in particular, is amazing helpful in allowing me to modify how my mind interacts with my muscles, and its actually incredibly effective at releasing muscles that have been locked in tension for years. Some doses of mushrooms can give me pain relief for a few days to a month, and usually the post-DMT reverie leaves me in an energetic and strengthened state that gives the strength to take proper posture.

Ultimately though, you're not going to find a psychedelic "magic bullet". Like anyone else with these issues, you're going to have to develop the strength and body discipline required to intentionally use your muscles and posture to physically relieve that nerve pressure. Psychs can help to guide motion and can on occasion do amazing things... but you're going to have to do it the old fashioned way (pulling, popping, cracking, shifting and maybe screaming) for the most part.

If you're interested in the effects of psychs on your healing efforts, try out some low doses at opportune times! A mild-low dose of smoked DMT about 30 minutes before a massage often does me wonders and allows me to release really deep tension with a therapists help. Before a calisthenic workout is also a great time for DMT or LSD and (if you can overcome the sedation) smoked harmalas (ayahuasca is really great with the muscles when the blood is flowing).
One method that gives me really staggering, cumulative daily results is "surfing" the brink of orgasm and making adjustments in that state. I find this best for displaced shoulders and hips, as well as really strengthening the spinal muscles from ass to head. I also find it great for releasing that twisting tension that can gnarl and club our arms and legs, hands and feet.

That's excellent to hear Quicksilver! Thanks for those ideas. I have yet to use DMT, and my past experience with Mushrooms and LSD was not an effective dose. Most likely due to a very low (.5-1mg) xanax dose I had been on for years. It didn't occur to me at the time that that would kill a trip. So anyways, I'm off that for a year now, so this will be all new testing ground.

I didn't quite catch what you meant by "surfing" the brink of orgasm? Do you mean while having sex? In that case, I have found that if I have had a J before, I would indeed say that it is remarkable the control and stamina achieved building towards, and yes virtually surfing the brink of the release, the kind of total alignment the body moves into producing this maximally efficient flow of movement, it is as though the body becomes a perfect machine, harnessing kinetic motion, to channel energy. And in the process you get a damn good workout, until the next day of course...so an illusion of sorts, but beautiful while it lasts. But I'm guessing you mean something else?

I like what you said about LSD allowing you to work through deeply contracted muscles and tense tendons, that seems to be exactly what I need, a very deep level of release which I can't get through massage.

When I had the first and most powerful kundalini awakening I have experienced 15 years ago, I felt all the muscles release along the spine as the energy very slowly moved up like water coursing through a hose in slow motion. I could sure as hell use that again! I remember thinking later that no amount of massage could ever do that...

Try the gluten-free idea again though, it might be the silver bullet that you're looking for to get back to an even better state in terms of health.

Thanks again for that, I was just reading about the paleo diet for vegetarians. I pretty much eat a paleo diet already I see, I'll need to cut a few things to make it a controlled experiment, I do eat German style rye sour dough bread, but these days I mostly eat either at salad bars, or Indian. I have seen a lot of Gluten-free products at some of the super markets here, always more expensive, but they make you stop and look at them because usually better quality products. Do you use unfluorinated toothpaste as well?

Getting just about to the breaking point, but not allowing yourself to tip over the edge. This is generally done for very long periods of time, becoming more intense each time orgasm is "averted". I do this through breath, focus and muscular relaxation.. but there's a huge variety of techniques to do so scattered throughout history. The stimulation and added strength and coordination enable me to use my lower body muscles to shift my pelvis to a more healthy position and engage the muscles in my legs, ass and lower back. It's also a really fantastic exercise in focus and discipline that can really enhance the use of the mind on a day-to-day basis. And it makes one's penis larger and more firm and pelvic muscles far more robust and well toned... So it's really a win-win(win-win-win-win-win-win-win-win...) scenario.
I find it far easier to do alone for many reasons, but mostly because it's very unusual to see me adjust my spine and hips and many people find it frightening. If you've got a partner with parallel interests who is up to give it a shot though, by all means try it out. Most guys I've heard of find it easier to get started with masturbation and move on from there, since the company of another person almost always means more intense sensation and less control. Your partner will likely need to be in the know and willing to cooperate with you, but things become much easier as the energy builds and the process tends to "explain itself".
That's what's awesome about using sex as therapy or a yoga: We don't need anyone to teach it to us, we just need to pay attention to ourselves and our partner and amazing things happen.
---

My experience with LSD releasing those muscles pretty much required massage to be fully effective. Until those areas were touched and manipulated, it was just full of intense and fairly painful sensation. Once I started working the muscle out, structures I once thought to be bone turned out to be rock-hard muscle that gave way under my hands. It would have been mind-blowing without the LSD, for sure. If I had an hour with a skilled therapist that night, I would have got up an entirely new man.

This was on the come up of my first LSD trip (200-300ug), so its not as if it requires any long-term work. If you want to give it a shot, it would be as simple as planning your trip so that you can devote some time to your body, or receive some help from a bodyworker or therapist who is okay with weird shit. Just remember to take it slow and gentle and drink huge amounts of water. Major changes in the structure of the body can be really disorienting and tiring, and releasing those gnarly, locked up muscles can release huge amounts of toxins and lactic acid. My urine looked like tea the next day, no matter how much I drank.
---

It seems all my posts today come back to orgasm... maybe there's something on my mind? Twisted Evil

I experience migraines basically every day, and lately I have been experimenting with micro doses of Psilocybe cyanescens (about .1g in the morning). It seems to be rather effective but I still need to spend more time with it to see how often it works. I know this is a bit different than the OT, but I have been having pretty good success and wanted to share it with others.
