Hi, I recently did my first AC extraction using a newbie Straight-to-base tech and mostly everything went well
Problem is a few things still posed an obstacle.

The first one was when I was performing the defat - When I mixed and 200ml naptha with the powdered bark to defat the AC solution and agitated it, a LOT of foam had formed in the container. After about 30 minutes most of this foam had dispersed but there was still a little leftover, making it a little bit difficult to be sure all of the naptha was totally pythoned out.

Also, when pythoning out the DMT-rich NPS from the solution, and I'm attempting to suck up the very last bits I always get a little bit of the AC solution in my extracted NPS. Then when I freeze my NPS to crystallize the DMT, this is always left over residually at the bottom. Is there a quick way to remove this, or a way to prevent it from being pulled with the NPS in the first place?
Everything said by this profile is fictional and not to be taken as fact.

Hi, welcome

1. I can't tell you the reason but I've read here that defat is not necessary with acrb so you may consider researching more and potentially skipping that step.

2. Instead of trying to collect the last bit of naphtha, leave it in the base mix and do more pulls. Gather all the pulls of nap and then freeze-precip from that rather than 1 by 1. If you do >3 pulls this way, whatever remains would barely have anything active in it and you can rest easy

Hope it helps!!!Thumbs up

One epiphany short of a paradigm shift

Too get rid of the residual stuff at the bottom (mostly red dots), you have many options. Regardless of which route you choose, it's always better to clean it up before crystallizing because once it has crystallized it's embedded in the dmt and you have to crystallize again to get rid of it

In addition to what oldsoul says, you can also:

- tilt the naptha containing dish to one side, the junk at the bottom typically sticks to the bottom, so you can tilt the naphtha to one side and wipe the other side with a paper towel.

- do a sodium carbonate wash, look on the wiki how to do it, it's really easy to do and is probably the most efficient way. All you need to buy is some arm & Hammer washing soda, a $2 box will last a lifetime
