By moonshine, I take that to be the equivalent of everclear.
And, for the lazyman's tek, I would suspect a no. Ethanol is soluble with water, which defeats the purpose of the STB, which involves basifying rootbark in a water slurry, and pulling with a nonpolar solvent (water is a polar solvent) Thus, naphtha is a much better alternative in this regard. For that to work, you need a solvent that won't dissolve infinitely in water (and vice versa)
Changa, starting from already extracted product, totally! You could use it to dissolve dmt with a minimal amount of fluid, and evaporate it onto the herb of your choice.
As a personal recommendation, check out the DMT-Nexus wiki, noman's tek served me rather well for a simple STB extraction using Mimosa hostilus, and CYB's tek looks to be excellent for Acacia (well, I'm gonna find out soon, using the same principle as that tek soon :3 )

Will ethanol dissolve harmalas or the changa? I seem to have read somewhere that methanol does a better job of that. I could be mistaken. methanol is pretty easy and under the radar to obtain. I understand your feelings The chemistry took a fair amount of reading to understand (months! before I even contemplated starting. a fair amount of it is just damn jargon) https://wiki.dmt-nexus.me/DMT_Extraction_Overview
Very good overview of extracting, which I recommend combing through. All so called "teks" are going to be based on these principles.

Just to update this and help fellow travelers out. Moonshine works amazing with making changa. Very little bit is needed and it drys in hours with a fan on it.
|Best of luck friends

Swim brews up 8 liters of 94-96% ethanol + around 300ml 96% methanol every few weeks using a copper reflux condenser on a 50 lt keg with a few home mods.. My question is what percent/proof shine was used with what tex since swim only use's it for quick and dodgy mj extractions with a heat mat evap and for drinking(cut with Coke and or flavor with distilled water of course)

moonshine should be very good for making changa... i'm not familair with lazymans tek though moonshine would help draw alkaloids out in the boiling stage of an A/B tek... you could add it to the acidic solution and it would make it far more effecient for pulling out the alkaloids.. or you could jsut soak the material in a mixture of moonshine and a small amount of vinegar for say 24 hrs and see how much it pulls

Would this be correct??
