Hi everybody.

I am doing a dance project. It's hard to explain what my intention is to do but simply put it I'm trying to create trippy and magical performance. For that I need all kind of weird , strange, magical, psychedelic animations, especially with creatures like elves, gnomes, monsters, unicorns, dragons, fairies, witches and wizzards etc as I'm going to use video projections in this performance.
I remember Mckenna was talking about some kind of animated series, I've seen them , but I totally forgot the name of it. If you know any of those, please post a link or just a name. Id doesn't has to be new thing, it can be 30 , 40 years old, as long as it's magical.

Thank you very much for your help!

The movie "The last Unicorn", the japanese movies "Princess Mononoke" and "Spirited away" as well as maybe "howl's moving castle", might have some images for you.

Not animated but the movie "The Fall" has some amazing imagery.

"Fantasia" is also very magical

MGMT’s "Time to pretend"

There is a japanese anime seeries called "fairy tail" but I don't know what it's like

The short Blender animation "Sintel" is very fantasy-like and features a dragon.

I saw "Paprika" for the first time while on mushrooms, and obviously I found the movie (the parade scenes in particular) very trippy. It's not really fairytal-y but it might be interesting to take a look at:

Still not sure how to add youtube videos to the post. But here.
"Think more than you speak"
"How do you get rid of the pain of having pain in the first place? You get rid of expectations"
"You are everything that is. Open yourself to the love and understanding that is available."
"To see God, you have to have met the Devil."
"When you know how to listen, everyone becomes a guru."
" One time, I didn't do anything, and it was so empty... Almost as if I wasn't doing anything. Then I wrote about it. It was fulfilling."

Well I have to throw this in here folks........

If you really want to mess with the heads of the people that are going to watch it I suggest you watch & maybe take cuts from The Holy Mountain by Alejandro Jodorowsky.

Some of the animal scenes I promise you will never leave your mind ever again Big grin Twisted Evil

There are loads of bits from the film on Youtube to use but here is a very small taste of what it's like.

For me to use a image from the film as my avatar & have location as "The Holy Mountain" the film sure made it's impact on me & you did ask for "trippy" stuff

you will be hard to find a more bizarre and obscure cartoon than Fantastic Planet:

Also, can't go wrong with the classics like The Care Bears:

And THIS one will give you a flashback even if you've never taken a psychedelic:

Fear, belief, love phenomena that determined the course of our lives. These forces begin long before we are born and continue after we perish. We cross and recross our old paths like figure skaters; our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.

I know this has been inactive for a little bit but I thought I'd recommend a very talented filmmaker named Jan Svenkmajer. He does a lot of stop-motion animation stuff but also does weird stuff with it like combing it with live action film. Very unique. Check these out:
The Ossuary and Other Tales (compilation of shorts)
Alice! (It's his take on Alice in Wonderland)
Faust

Enjoy!
