Yes that makes sense. I wrote up a procedure and if you could critique it, it'd be very appreciative. The asterisks are where I have a question or 2
Materials:
•100g acacia confusa root bark (powder/strips)
•90% or higher IPA
•white vinegar
•arm and hammer washing soda
•a few glass plates, bowls, jars
•a filter
*salt??** I thought I read that salt helps pulls. Don't know how I'd incorporate it though.
Procedure:
1. Mix together acrb powder with an equal amount of the washing soda by adding water to give it a pasty consistency all in a bowl
2. **Spread this on a glass plate once the desired consistency is reached to let it dry**
3. **Once dry. Soak the acrb concoction in the IPA, and filter out liquid (do this 3 separate times)**
4. **With all 3 IPA pulls combined, evaporate on a glass plate til waxy**
5. **Collect evaporated wax and place in glass jar filled with white vinegar. Place jar into hot water sink until wax is dissolved.**
6. **Filter out liquid into another glass bowl and mix in equal volume of washing soda, then transfer to glass plate to spread and dry**
7. Repeat step 3 (one pull instead of 3) and evap, then scrape up product. [Do more pulls for further purification]
Asterisk questions
Step 2 - How long do I let it dry. Can I use a hair dryer or fan to speed up the process?
Step 3 - Do I just soak or can I shake?
Step 4 - 3 pulls seems like a lot of liquid. Once again can I use a hairdryer or fan?
Step 5 - About how much white vinegar should I use? And do I shake/stir to speed up dissolution?
Step 6 - I'm guessing the amount of washing soda should equate to the amount of liquid correct?
Miscellaneous questions (sorry this is my very first extraction)
Will salt help the extraction? If so, how would I incorporate it into the process?
What is an estimate of the duration of using this process?
Will this process stink up my house?
Can I reuse the jars, plates, and bowls for food purposes?
Will appreciate as many suggestions as possible.
