Hello, my friend was wondering if the DMT manufacturing process using Lye/Naphtha produces any types of strong odor during any parts of the reactions. He works during the day and lives in an apartment so if it were to produce an odor while he was letting it sit for periods of time, it may upset some neighbors.
Thoughts and experiences?

Well, just to clarify, it's an extraction process.

There are teks that reduce or eliminate the smell.

Please don't use the term manufacturing... The plant is what 'manufactured' it.. Not you

Some people refer to extractions as 'cooking' and stuff, like in that breaking bad series, I find it horrifying that people could get it so wrong (personally)

Unless you do an A/B with long boils, the smells shouldn't be overpowering...
Just don't brew Ayahuasca or extract Syrian rue Pleased

A small STB is mostly done in closed containers, the only smell would be naphtha, and that smells like paint thinner... If anyone asks, just tell them you're painting something (a model, or art, but not the walls because we use water based paints for walls nowadays Pleased)

Use a tek that makes use of d-limonene. No one ever asks why your apt smells orangey-clean Thumbs up

If SWIM wanted to do a extraction involving Lye &/or petrol solvents at all than they should know that, yes indeed it produces a not very strong yet unpleasant odor AND more importantly creates gas fumes u cant see as tho are natural part of the process.
These fumes are not good for one's health and therefore ANY extraction should be done with some form of fresh air ventilation / exchange. even just a window open could be all u need and even Huge amounts of fumes are quickly dispersed into the outside air and Knowbody within close range would notice Thumbs up

In the title of this thread, I corrected the word 'manufacture' into 'extraction'.

Kind regards,
