Supplies- 150 grams Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark
8 tablespoons red devil lye (Sodium Hydroxide)
8 liters Naptha(sometimes known as Shellite)
Filtered Water
Stainless steel pot (about 5 liters)
4 flat glass baking dishes
Glass bowl
Big metal spoon
Electric Blender
Measuring cup
Turkey baster
Fan
Razor blade, wax paper

Blend Mimosa into Fine powder (May need to shake while blending, plastic wrap rubber banded over top prevent escape of dust)
Put Mimosa in pot, Pour 1250 ml water
Mix Sodium Hydroxide, Eye skin protection advised. Carefully! Add to water, always to water not water to lye. Stir dissolve slowly. Mixture will heat
Slowly add mixture to Mimosa, while stirring until black goop.
Add Naptha and stir for 40 minutes***
Cover and wait 15-20 min. (let goop settle)
Pour top clear layer into glass bowl (prevents black goop in baking dish, lil brown OK) or turkey base into dish
Use fan on low to help evaporate Naptha, as evaporates DMT crystals form.
Re extractions- go back to ***, repeat up to 3-4 times
2nd extraction-four hours after first, third- 1 hour after 2nd
After third dissolve 2 tablespoons lye into some water, add to goop
To be done anywhere between 8-24 hours after 3rd

By the way I usually halve this tek.

On a previous post i was told (4 tablespoons NaOH is around 75g's...) and I was using a way excessive amount of naptha.

Main questions, Naptha amount? Lye amount? Water too I suppose. Stirring time? This tek has been very successful for me.

Yes, IME, that's WAY too much naptha. It doesn't hurt, since you're evaporating and don't have to worry about having your NP concentrated enough for a good freeze precip, but it's unnecessary and a waste of naptha, and time spent waiting for it to evaporate.
The ratio that I've found to work best - after considerable experience - is 1g of lye, 15ml of water, and 1ml of naptha for each pull per gram of bark.
That is a starting point, some tweaking may be necessary since MHRB is a biological product and thus not created all the same.

1 gram lye per plant material, that sounds excessive to me. Just sayin.

80-100ml for 150g bark for each pull is more than enough.

This is standard. I would use less naptha though for sure. I usually only use 10-50 ml [edit} for each pull. Usually 15ml [edit] for the first 3. Then 30ml [edit] on the last.

Also with STB from what I understand you need to let it sit longer than that. I usually let it sit for a day and up to a week. Then I do the pulls.

Dont you do any final wash when ready?
You canuse some sodium carbonate disolved in water and after a clean water wash before freezer.

Really so your sayin if i did a 150 gram extraction i would want 150 grams of Lye? And how would I go about pourin off that little of naptha? Use a turkey baster i guess then. I did go down to about 500 ml of naptha for my halved (75 gram extraction. Mainly cuz i didnt have a turkey baster and didnt know how i was gona go about pourin so little off.

A flavor injector without the metal needle part works great for decanting naphtha.

If you use a turkey baster that is glass or hdpe2 plastic and you can see whats in the baster then you can suck up the naphtha and base solution if you wish and hold the baster vertically until the base solution separates from the naptha in the baster and then slowly squirt the base solution out until it's just naphtha in the baster and transfer that to your evap dish or whatever.

If I were you I'd invest in a separatory funnel. They are great and make this process SO MUCH EASIER!

I got myself a 500 ml separatory funnel. I also just bought a vacuum filtration apparatus. It came with a 70mm/500ml Buchner funnel, a 500ml side arm filtration beaker, a hand operated vacuum pump, a single hole rubber stopper, and 200 70mm circle filter papers. I'm stoked to do my next extract with these.

But these are just examples of stuff to look into if you're interested in doing future extractions.
