I'd definitely throw the food out

This is why its so important to have a tightly sealed container to put the naphtha in

I found this sticky cling wrap at the grocery store, it seals airtight and liquid tight.
Its worth the 5 bucks or whatever it was...Thumbs up

if you layer tinfoil/aluminum foil in between two layers of cling film/saran wrap before covering your dish, it stops any naphtha smells escaping and contaminating your food.

Awesome trick, I'll definitely remember that for next time. Do you think the food I have in there now is contaminated?

As an extra measure, you can put a container of open baking soda in the freezer. It's supposed to trap odors so I'm assuming it would trap some of the nap smell. If it still smells it may also clear up the existing odor.

The first time this happened to me the family went ape! the worst foods to be affected are ice creams and anything with a fat content. Also Yorkshire puddings, if you know what they are!

This had happened to me when I first started as well. Bad news was that a lot of our food tasted like lighter fluid...somehow took us a few days to figure out what we were tasting. Good news was that it turns out lighter fluid isn't all that toxic (but of course you wouldn't want it in your food anyway). I found the foods to be most affected were those that were bread or wheat-based.

I personally use glass food containers with locking lids. You will be using them for many pulls to come so I think it is great investment. Not expensive either.
