Monty has a nice sized storage tote with an almost water-tight seal. He also has dry ice. So could monty put glass serving trays inside of this tote and let them sit for said hours or so. See monty doesn't have a freezer big enough or not used enough to store in for anytime. BUT he does have somewhere unused and hidden that he could set this unit and leave until ready. Obviously he would see how cold this apparatus would get and seal it well (unless dry ice needed to be vented). He worries that maybe the gas from the dry ice would cause some adverse reaction to his experiment.

He bows in the knowledge you bestow on him. Cool

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

CO2 (Dry Ice) will not react or adversely affect the process.

You should have very good precipitation since the temperature is below -70ºC and most freezers don't go below -15ºC... you may get your solvent to freeze though...

monty thinks drilling vent holes should help low temp problem? The tote would not be insulated rather just thin storage type plastic. monty knows he needs to test his hypotheses but theory drives him forward.

this does NOT NOT NOT work no matter how you cut it. smaller/ bigger storage or anything. it gets cold but not enough. so if future generations of first timers think to use dry ice. monty has confirmed its not going to work and its kinda costly.

IIRC, this tek was created b/c the creator did not have electricity. Therefore, no fire and no ice. Might work for you.

Well if dry ice is your only option you could pour it over methanol to cool it and use as a refrigerant, the freezing point of methanol is like -90ºC

It doesn't have to be methanol, you can use any low freezing point liquid.
